Legal Apprenticeships with Eversheds Starting Salary £15.200 pa

We have just been notified of  7 Legal Apprenticeships with Eversheds law firm based in Leeds. Eversheds are one of the world’s largest corporate law firms. They are offering a 6 year, post A-level apprenticeship, run with BPP University Law School, where successful applicants will study one day per week and work four days per week whilst starting on a salary of £15,200. At the end of the 6 years, the apprentice will gain an LLB law degree and also qualify as a solicitor with a qualification salary of £41,500. Entry requirements are 3 B’s or equivalent at A-level.

Before applying please read all information carefully. This is another example of an excellent opportunity for students preferring to start employment at 18/19 and still being able to gain the necessary professional qualifications.

Eversheds are also likely to recruit apprentices in Finance, Marketing and other support functions within their business. They are likely to  publish these early next year and they will be attending the apprentice fair at the First Direct Arena in March.

AON Insurance apprenticeships. Starting salary £17,000 to £19,000

Aon are one of the world’s largest insurance companies offering services in pensions, general insurance, risk management and consulting. In their Leeds office they are recruiting apprentices for next summer in actuarial work, insurance and consultancy work. Starting salary between £17,000 and £19,000 pa.

National Audit Office Trainee Accountancy

Are looking to recruit a Trainee Technician next summer to play an active role in a scientific laboratory. This role offers the prospect of full time employment with sponsored higher educational studies.

To be considered you should be expecting at least 112 UCAS points (approximately BBC)

Applicants must be studying either Chemistry, Physics or Biology. The type of work in the technical team at SNF (UK) requires hands on problem solving skills. The company have stressed they are particularly interested in someone’s personal qualities.  Studying and working full time requires real strength of character.

The successful applicant will be offered the opportunity to study for a FdSc/BSc in Chemistry part-time.

Insight into Law course

BPP University Law School is running an insight into law on Saturday 3 December at its Whitehall Quay centre.  The day event is aimed at year 12 and 13 student who are thinking of entering a career in law and want to have a taster of what it is like to be a lawyer.  The event is free.

If you are interested please register using the link below. Please ensure that you tell your parents that you have registered for the event. BPP will not be providing lunch so you should bring a packed lunch or money to buy a sandwich at one of the shops local to the Law School.

Depending on the level of interest from the schools in the area BPP may have to limit numbers.  Registering early is therefore recommended.

 This event will give parents and guardians the opportunity to find out more about the application process for university. Sheridan Fabrications Ltd is the UK largest manufacturer of solid and natural work surfaces. Based in Normanton, West Yorkshire they supply to Blue Chip clients across the UK including Wickes, Magnet, Homebase and Ikea.

As a result of continued success and planned growth they are now seeking to appoint a Production Assistant to complement their existing Drawing Office team.   Working in the Drawing Office team and reporting to the Quality Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate production of information, drawings and planning sheets for the Production area..

Key Duties include:

 Detailed checks on all information, identify and communicate any anomalies/amendments

  • Providing on time accurate information and drawing instructions for the Production area
  • Contacting/liaising with customers regarding queries
  • Prioritising workload using delivery/installation schedules
  • Providing direct and clear communication to the production team.

No experience is necessary as fully training will be provided; so may suit enthusiastic leaver with an aptitude for IT and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.    A good standard of education is essential and applicants should be comfortable interpreting and evaluating information from various sources.   Although CAD experience is not essential as all training will be provided, experience gained in a similar role would be advantageous as would previous technical and/or manufacturing experience.

The successful candidate will be a conscientious with an eye for detail, a good communicator, able to work to deadlines, autonomously or as part of a team and have a flexible can do approach to workload and duties.
