Reach for Excellence scheme for Year 12 students

The Leeds University Reach for Excellence programme is aimed at students with the potential to go to an elite university. Support is provided by Leeds University in the form of subject taster sessions and a 5 day residential programme. Students need to expect to achieve 3 or more A levels at grade B or above (or equivalent)
To be eligible for Reach for Excellence candidates must:
Be able to attend regular events at the university during the school holidays
Have the potential to achieve 3 or more A levels at grade B or above (or equivalent) and have the potential to be a candidate for study at a leading research-led university
Have gained 5 or more GCSEs (including Mathematics and English Language) at grade C or above.
Reach for Excellence applicants will need to meet two of the following criteria to be eligible for the scheme:
In the first generation of your immediate family to apply to higher education.
Attend or have attended a school which achieved less than the national average 5 A*-C passes (including English & Maths) at GCSE. Please see https://www.gov.uk/school-performance-tables
Only option is to attend a local university
Studies disrupted by circumstances in your personal, social or domestic life.
Live in or grew up in public care.
Live in a geographical area with low levels of progression on to higher education. Please follow link below to check your postcode.
In receipt of Free School Meals during your GCSE studies OR from a household with a gross income of £25,000 or below.
